A hub of musical activity in the 18th century, Paris inspired and welcomed composers such as Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, Georg Phillip Telemann, Blavet, and Marais. At court and in private salons, audiences mingled with musicians and heard the latest in musical styles.
