Dendrofemonology: A Feminist History Tree Ring Opening Reception

Tiffany Shlain will share the story behind Dendrofemonology: A Feminist History Tree Ring Sculpture, her groundbreaking, traveling monument for advancing women’s rights as a kick-off to the Right to Run Celebration Weekend.

Tiffany Shlain is a multidisciplinary artist, Emmy-nominated filmmaker, national bestselling author, and the founder of the Webby Awards. Working across mediums, Shlain’s work explores ideas in feminism, philosophy, technology, neuroscience, and nature.

In her keynote address she will share her moveable monument sculpture, Dendrofemonology: A Feminist History Tree Ring, and all the places it has served as a gathering for organizations working to expand and protect women’s rights, including the National Mall in DC, and Madison Square Park in NYC through her award-winning film We Are Here.

Following the reception and keynote, join us for the 1848 Block Party from 7-9pm at the Women’s Rights National Historical Park, 136 Fall Street, Seneca Falls, featuring live music with The Cool Club & The Lipker Sisters, local food, and drinks to honor the 1848 Women’s Rights Convention.
