Finger Lakes Cameratta concerts

The Finger Lakes Camerata, a vocal group based at Finger Lakes Community College, will give two free concerts titled “For the Love of Food, Folklore and Fantastic Beasts” on April 30 in Canandaigua and May 1 in Geneva.

The Saturday, April 30 concert begins at 3 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 58 N. Main St., Canandaigua.

The Sunday, May 1 concert begins at 3 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church, 24 Park Place, Geneva.

Music selections include: “The Banquet Fugue” by John Rutter; “Goodnight Moon” by Eric Whitacre, which is based on the Children’s Book by Margaret Wise Brown; “Animal Crackers Vol. 1” by Eric Whitacre, focused on poetry of Ogden Nash; and “Jabberwocky” by Sam Pottle.

Vaccination and masks are not required but recommended.

Donations will be accepted for the Dr. A. John Walker Scholarship Fund for FLCC music and music recording students.

Anyone interested in singing with Finger Lakes Camerata for the 2022-2023 season, should contact director Anthony D’Agostino at for more information on auditions. The group is currently seeking sopranos, altos, and basses.
